Coordinator, Digital Humanities Research Collaboration
After working for several years as a trained bookseller, Barbara studied Comparative Literature and English and German Literature and Language at the University of Göttingen, graduating in 2006 with a Master of Arts. During and following her studies, Barbara worked in several publishing houses, editorial offices and academic institutions, including the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the University of Göttingen's Institute of Germanic Studies where she coordinated the ERASMUS student exchange programme. From 2009 to 2012 Barbara worked at the Göttingen State and University Library in the ‘Electronic Publishing’ and ‘Research and Development’ departments. In these roles she was responsible for the European project PEER − Publishing and the Ecology of European Research and was involved in coordinating DARIAH-DE, the German contribution to the European digital research infrastructure, DARIAH-EU. In parallel, she completed her PhD in 2011 analysing the book as a literary motif in contemporary literary communication.
