Hacky Hour / Neotopia / Göttingen Open Science team

, 6:00 pm to

Because of ever increasing datasets, problems in reproducibility, and the lack of training in computer/data science and statistics in many scientific fields we would like to establish a Hacky Hour here in Göttingen. The idea is to have an informal meeting, open to all, once a month with a topic related to computational tools, code, and science. We will also include hands-on sessions where we learn and apply new techniques or tools. Most importantly, we want to serve as a open discussion space for researchers, where you can bring your problem in one of these subjects and discuss it with others to get help. You can also find companions to join a professional or fun project.

For more information visit our website: http://hackyhour.github.io/Goettingen/

You can also join our mailing list: https://listserv.gwdg.de/mailman/listinfo/hackyhourWe meet every four weeks on a Tuesday at 6 pm at “Neotopia”. Feel free to join the Gitter chat and/or the mailing list if you have any questions/topic suggestions beforehand.
We might order Pizza (but you can bring your own food) and usually sit together until 7.30 pm. You are invited to stay for the OpenChaos, an open event of CCC Göttingen.
Please bring your own computer, as we cannot provide any resources in this regard and then can also work through installations.
