Brown Bag Lunch: Dr. Edit Goeroegh (SUB): Humanities data sharing: An exploration of conceptual approaches for data journals

, 1:00 pm to

Location: SUB Main Library, Platz der Goettinger Sieben, Großer Konferenzraum 3.03

The EU-funded OpenUP project addresses key aspects and challenges of the currently transforming science landscape and aspires to come up with a cohesive framework for the review-disseminate-assess phases of the research life cycle that is fit to support and promote Open Science. Within the framework of the project several pilot studies are conducted in a period of a year to validate the results of the landscape scans of alternative review, dissemination and altmetrics research. One of the pilot studies wishes to develop a data journal blueprint and provide best practices of data publishing through experiments in local Humanities research groups and departments.

The Brown Bag Lunch talk will provide a forum to address and discuss several aspect of the data lifecycle, such as data management planning, legal issues relating to privacy and copyright, data security, and data preservation.
