Yana Breindl

Researcher, Digital Humanities Research Collaboration

Since July 2012, Yana is a researcher at the Göttingen Centre for Digital Humanities, Institute for Political Science, Georg-August Universität Göttingen. Her research objective is to carry out a comparative public policy analysis of internet blocking in liberal democracies. From November 2011 to June 2012, Yana was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford, researching discourse networks on internet blocking in France and Germany. Before that, she completed her Ph.D in Information and Communication Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. The dissertation is entitled “Hacking the Law: An Analysis of Internet-based Campaigning on Digital Rights in the European Union” . Yana also completed her BA and MA in Information and Communication Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
